Through hands-on exercises specifically designed to foster self-reflection and exploration in practical, real-life situations, participants will take away tangible tools to help them exercise their authority in a manger that proactively builds community, effectively responds to disruptive behavior and creates a classroom culture that feels safe and is conductive to learning. The connection between teaching-style and impact on brain state with a particular focus on improving learning outcomes will also be presented.

The focus will shift to how you, as a leader, can identify and celebrate success in practice. Learn practical approaches to coaching your team and walk away with tools to access progress, support your staff, and ensure sustainable program impact. Participants will:
* Receive an overview of the strategies that the Youth Development Professionals learned
* Review the activities presented and planned by the Youth Development Professionals during the session

Enhancing cultural competence and encouraging cultural humility is essential to increasing access and improving the standard of care for traumatized children, families, and communities. Cultural awareness, responsiveness, and understanding need to be infused at every level to be effective in addressing the needs of those who have experienced trauma. With both presentation and group interaction, participants will identify forces that contribute to behaviors that build or deccrease emotional health in individuals and systems.
