Building Thriving Teen Programs: Lessons from BGCWP FILLING

The upcoming session, led by the Boys & Girls Clubs of Western Pennsylvania (BGCWPA), will provide our Impact Program Team (IPT) staff with valuable insights into effective teen programming strategies. BGCWPA has a rich history of engaging and supporting teens through various initiatives designed to foster personal growth, academic success, and career readiness.
Session Highlights:
• Comprehensive Teen Programs: BGCWPA offers a range of programs tailored to meet the diverse needs of teenagers. These include academic support, financial literacy, job preparation, and college readiness. Their holistic approach ensures that teens receive the necessary tools and guidance to succeed in various aspects of life
.• Dedicated Teen Centers: Recognizing the importance of providing safe and supportive environments, BGCWPA has established dedicated teen centers, such as “The Club Teen Center.” These centers are designed to cater specifically to teenagers, offering programs and resources that address their unique challenges and aspirations.
• Community Engagement and Partnerships: BGCWPA emphasizes the significance of community involvement and partnerships in enhancing teen programs. By collaborating with local organizations and stakeholders, they have expanded their reach and impact, providing teens with a broader network of support and opportunities.

This is a 4 hour session, filling the 10:50-12:50 and 2:10-4:10 time slots.  You will break for lunch from 12:50-2:00

Jumpstart your youth engagement strategies in their dynamic, hands-on workshop designed for Youth Development Professionals! Discover the keys to launching meaningful developmental relationships with youth, craft powerful driving questions that inspire curiosity, and unlock the potential of the 5 Es (Engage, Explore, Explain, Elaborate, and Evaluate) to guide your programs.  Walk away with a grab bag of creative transition activities, all while learning practical tools to build connections that matter.  Whether you're new to youth work or looking to refresh your approach, this session will leave you energized and ready to transform interactions into impactful experiences.  This Early Childhood workshop will plan and participate in activities that support Developmental skills and STEAM.
