About me
Bernice Andrews, LSW (Licensed Social Worker) and Certified Trauma Competent Family Professional has been an LGI (Lakeside Global Institute) trainer since May 2015. In addition to her MSW (Master’s Degree in Social Work), Bernice has a post-masterscertificate in Family Therapy from the Philadelphia Child Guidance Clinic, a Child Trauma Academy certificate in the Neurosequential Model of Therapeutics, and participated in one year of clinical training from the Philadelphia Gestalt Institute. Bernice has completed three courses from the PENN Program for Mindfulness: Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction, Mindfulness and Grief, and Deepening Connections. She worked at YSI (Youth Services, Inc.) a private child welfare agency from 1979-2017, having been hired as a Supervisor in Family-Based Services and retiring as the agency’s Associate Executive Director. Her passion at YSI was working with families in their own homes, staff and program development, and providing reflective supervision to her colleagues and MSW student interns. Bernice’s training philosophy is: “Be a Guide on the Side, not the Sage on Stage”.
